This 15.85cts teal sapphire is the largest teal sapphire we have ever found in Gombe, Nigeria that is of gem quality. The sapphire started out as 78cts gem (this is the largest known find that is of gem quality in the region in recent years), we sliced it in two and cut one-half of it which started out as a 33 cts gem. The other half which would produce a blue stone is still uncut. The gem was cut by one of our world-class cutters in Seattle with a remarkable 48% yield. It is cut with the classic “hearts and arrows” in a custom square cushion cut. It would make a one-of-a-kind ring or pendant. The video is the best color approximation in person.
